SLICO is a zero-parameter variant of the SLIC superpixel algorithm that adaptively normalizes gradient magnitudes across the image, producing compact superpixels of uniform size in both textured and texture-less regions. It runs efficiently in O(N) time and requires no manual tuning of the compactness parameter.
